What do I need the smart meter for?

Installed at your sub-distribution board, the smart meter measures the electricity flows in your grid to the second. This allows you to determine exactly how much power (kW) is currently being consumed or fed into the grid at any given time.

How does the system use the collected information?

As an interface, ELMI AI acts like an energy management system, processing data from the smart meter and other consumption/generation units in your energy system, and creates a system schedule based on predicted loads and the information you provide.

How does the ELMI product help to reduce costs?

The ModbusTCP interface allows the battery to be controlled by external systems—whether EMS or ELMI AI: this means the battery not only enables fast charging at up to 400 kW despite a 70 kW grid connection, but is also available for further optimizations. As a central storage unit, it absorbs energy from consumers, buffers it, and releases it precisely when the grid load is high or electricity costs reach peak levels. This ensures optimal utilization of available energy and significantly increases the performance of your system.

Use PV electricity instead of feeding it into the grid

The smart meter allows the power flows of your PV system to be recorded in real time. Solar energy that would otherwise be fed into the grid for around 7 ct / kWh can be temporarily stored in the battery storage system and released again when required – both for self-consumption and for charging electric vehicles

Price-controlled reloading

With dynamic electricity prices, the battery can be charged specifically at times when exchange prices are low. If the electricity price is high, the battery supplies your location so that significantly less electricity has to be drawn from the grid. In this way, you can reduce your electricity costs by up to 7 ct / kWh.

Active trading on the electricity markets

The ELMI products also enable trading on the electricity market. Products are automatically bought and sold on the relevant electricity markets in order to generate additional revenue. These revenues are available immediately and are distributed to the operators – the trading itself runs fully automatically in the background.

You can then use ELMI AI to control your ELMI products. Based on your location, you can customize the operating modes of the smart control system to ensure your satisfaction is the top priority.
